Iran Holds Mass Funeral for 165 Killed in Minab School Strike

Thousands gathered in the southern Iranian city of Minab for a mass funeral after 165 schoolgirls and staff were killed in what Tehran described as a US-Israeli air strike on a girls’ school.

The incident marks one of the deadliest civilian attacks since the escalation between Iran, the United States and Israel.

Mass Funeral in Minab

Crowds filled public squares in Minab, located in Hormozgan province, waving Iranian flags and chanting slogans against the US and Israel.

Iranian state television showed mourners carrying portraits of the victims. Many women dressed in black chadors attended the ceremony.

Officials say the school was struck during ongoing US-Israeli military operations targeting Iran.

Conflicting Claims

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Washington and Tel Aviv of deliberately targeting civilians.

However, the Israeli military said it was not aware of any Israeli or US strike in the area.

The attack occurred amid joint US-Israel operations following the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Growing International Concern

Iranian authorities have called for international condemnation, saying several hospitals and schools have been hit since the conflict escalated.

The war has already resulted in hundreds of casualties across Iran and rising regional tensions.
